Who’s Hiring in Illinois?
Illinois is a rather diverse state, with Chicago as third largest city in the United States serving as an anchor for many industries and rural areas that thrive on agriculture. - Harpo — What’s Harpo? It’s not just what you get when you spell Oprah backwards, it’s the general name for Oprah Winfrey’s many business ventures. Oprah tapes her show in Chicago, so many of the jobs are available in Illinois, but there are also opportunities in California and New York. Here’s the job page.
- Allstate - This Northbrook, IL based insurance company has over a dozen lines of insurance. With over 70,000 employees, they are part of the Fortune 100 and have many opportunities in Illinois and beyond. There are over 50 positions available in Northbrook alone at the time of this writing. - Abbott Laboratories – Here’s another big, established company that’s hiring right now. This Abbott Park, Illinois company has many locations around the world and over 70,000 employees total. A quick search shows over 100 openings in Illinois alone at the time of this writing. Abbott has been a pioneer in health care, developing the first HIV screening test, treatments for arthritis and many other diseases. They have a variety of needs, from researchers to marketers. - John Deere – On the opposite side of the state from Chicago is the small town of Moline, which is the home to John Deere, a multi-billion dollar company with over 50,000 employees worldwide.
