Who’s Hiring in Hawaii?
There’s really no need to sell people on why Hawaii is a great place to live. Over a million people live on this island state and work in or support the tourism and agriculture that keeps the state’s economy going. - Bank of Hawaii — Known as the nickname “Bankoh”, this institution started over 100 years ago and has remained stable in spite of the recession, being named the top performing bank among banks with assets of over $3 billion in 2009 by the ABA Banking Journal. - Outrigger Hotels and Resorts — Do you know something about the culture(s) in which you live and work, have a strong sense of place, and are willing to share your knowledge and experiences openly? Then according Ohana Hotels and Resorts career page, you just might have a future with them. There’s plenty to do as they have or are building some twelve thousand rooms on forty seven different properties.
- Convergence CT — It’s not all about the resorts in Hawaii. There’s some serious Information Technology and medicine going on as well. Convergence CT performs all kinds of secure data storage and analysis for the medical and pharmacutical industry. See their careers page for current openings.
- Hilo Hattie — Normally the tendency is to focus on major, but locally headquartered companies for the “who’s hiring” series. That leads to some very stable, but predicable list of technology, retail and medical/pharmaceutical corporate headquarters. Hilo Hattie is local to Hawaii and was just too much fun to pass up. This retailer of everything Hawaiian from clothes to novelties, and they are opening up an online store in 2009. They don’t have a career page, but check out the home page and look around. You’re likely to find what positions they are hiring for by contacting them directly.
