Who’s Hiring in Georgia?
I’ve seen quite a few readers for my posts Companies That are Hiring Right Now and What Industries Are Hiring Now, so I thought I’d expand on the idea a bit, and start exploring different states in the US (where I live) that are hiring, in spite of a recession.
The first state is my current home, Georgia. Home to the Braves, warm summers, former President Jimmy Carter, peanuts and peaches. It’s also home to Fortune 500 companies like Coke-a-Cola and The Home Depot, plus a lot of smaller successful companies. But enough of the prelude. Let’s find you a new job!
Who’s Hiring In Georgia?
Atlanta:
- Northrup Gruman: The big defense contractor has many openings across the state, mostly in technology.
- Chick-fil-a: Atlanta isn’t the home of the chicken, just the chicken sandwich. There’s a few openings here, including accountant, corporate communications manager, food safety consultant or equipment purchasing supervisor. There are other openings. Check the website for more.
Columbus:
- Aflac: That’s right, the insurance company with the funny duck is based in the small town of Columbus, GA as are a few other places. Aflac seems to have a lot of openings. such as a supervisor of sales leads, sales support and admin (whatever that means), a trainer, a market development consultant, and many other positions.
Augusta:
- Club Car: Georgia has a lot of golf and Augusta is the home of The Masters golf tournament, so it makes a great spot for the well-known golf cart maker to hang its hat. They are a division of Ingersoll Rand, so the jobs are their website, but there are jobs to be found in many Georgia locations for Ingersoll Rand companies, including ClubCar, which currently has a listing for a sourcing specialist.
That’s a quick tour of jobs in Georgia. You can find all kinds of Georgia companies through Wikipedia for starters. I guess my main point here is to give some hope and a real source of jobs out there to those who might be looking. The postings for the jobs I’ve linked to were live at the time of this writing, but may have changed. You’re best off going to the main company site to see the latest listings. And happy job hunting!
