Telonu Keeps You Depressed About Layoffs
When talking about the economy, the word “depression” usually means a shrinking economy, but thanks to Telonu, depression can take on a rather emotional meaning. Telonu normally lets people rant and rave about stuff at the office, under condition on anonymity.
With the economy in the tank, they have a “layoff talk” tab for people to share the rather human side of the layoff numbers game. For numbers folks who demand an up-to-the-minute accounting of their job losses, they’ve developed the following widget, which I’ve included below:
I’m not sure if this is the best idea, to be honest, but with people trying measure layoffs different ways, I did think it was a novel take on things. I’d love to see a widget showing who’s hiring right now, even who’s hiring in my state or just what industries have jobs.
Note: Financial Reflections has absolutely no connection to Telonu. I just thought the widget was yet another angle on the mounting layoffs. Oh, and thanks to VentureBeat for mentioning it first.
