A Month Away…

By admin • Apr 20th, 2009 • Category: frugal, taxes, thrift

Amazingly Easy Menu System

By admin • Jan 26th, 2009 • Category: frugal, thrift

The the single best way I’ve found to cut food costs is to make a menu. But I’ve found a solution to both, and it’s made dinner time so much easier.

The Millionaires I Know

By admin • Jan 21st, 2009 • Category: Entrepreneurship, Net Worth, frugal, thrift

I know at least four millionaires. I’m pretty sure I know more, but I thought I’d outline those I know the most about. People aren’t exactly forthcoming with their money matters, so I’m having to speculate here, but I’m rather certain these four are loaded.

Five Frugal Foods (that are actually good for you)

By admin • Jan 20th, 2009 • Category: frugal, thrift

When trying to save money, it’s way to easy to fall into the cheap food trap. You know, the discount foods that often are over-processed, high in fat and low in fiber. OK, the holidays are officially over and you’re possibly feeling the pinch on your budget.  Maybe you have stuff that you can’t return to the store, or stuff to get rid of to make room for the newer, even cooler stuff you just bought.  A great thing to do is just sell the stuff online.  [...]

Great Last-Minute Christmas Deals (and more)

By admin • Dec 24th, 2008 • Category: Giving, frugal, thrift

With just hours of shopping left, there are some great deals out there.  That’s good news if you’re like me and still have a few things to get.  Apparently a combination of bad weather and a bad economy have kept shoppers out of the stores, so merchants are getting serious about cutting prices to lure [...]

How to Get a Great Deal on an HDTV

By admin • Dec 11th, 2008 • Category: frugal, thrift

The beautiful monstrosity of a tube TV that had been keeping me happy passed away recently.  It was an untimely event and quite against my money-saving-while-watching-tv timeline.  I even wrote a post titled Why I Didn’t Buy An HDTV to show what my plans were for that 32″ not-ready-for-the-digital-age set.  Oh, we were to have [...]

How (My Wife) Saved 80% on Transmission Repairs

By admin • Sep 4th, 2008 • Category: Reflections, frugal, thrift

I own two cars, one is a cheap paid-for-in-cash ride that I use to get me to my commuter van, the other is a much newer used car, financed at a low rate through my credit union. The paid-for car has over 150,000 miles on it and the newer one has only 56,000. [...]
